Predictions 2019: Pisces

189px-Pisces.svgPisces (for those born Feb. 19- March 20): For a mutable water sign oozing with talent (and often beauty and fame, think: Rhianna, Justin Bieber, Josh Groban, Liz Taylor and Daniel Craig, just to name a few Big Fishes), it may seem perplexing that you grapple with a sense of inadequacy much of the time.

Maybe one explanation is that your two rulers, Neptune and Jupiter, are storm gods. With Neptune ruling over tempests and Jupiter in charge of sea gods, your imagination runs wild at times and you pick up on the turmoil and suffering that often surround you.

Your daydreams take precedence over reality any day. As such, many Pisceans need to be regularly convinced that presence on the planet and their contributions matter.

You also want so much to belong. If you haven’t found your school of fish, you feel incomplete. Emotional circulation is your jam. And perhaps your biggest challenge is to forgive (yourself and others) and let go of anger, pain and grief so you can move on.

In 2011, Neptune entered your sign of Pisces, the sign he rules, where he’ll be until 2026 (a little over 14 years!). The year 2011 was also when a more diminutive (but no less potent) asteroid moved into Pisces: Chiron, aka the wounded healer. Having both in your solar first house has amounted to an ongoing meltdown of sorts and may have triggered a very deep and personal healing crisis for you.

Neptune, as an outer planet that cannot be seen by the naked eye, has ground through your first house ever so slowly, just a few degrees each year. As of 2019, Neptune is only about half-way through your solar first house, where it has slowly dissolved what you thought was your identity and altered your ability of normal self-expression.

Chiron travels faster than Neptune and, after seven years, has moved ahead of Neptune, clearing a path for Neptune to follow. The asteroid will soon be leaving your sign and, in fact, briefly moved into Aries from April to September of 2018. It then backtracked into Pisces but only until Feb. 17, 2019, when it will re-enter Aries for the long haul until 2027.

As such, you can expect a major shift in mid-February along with a potentially new healing journey.  [Continued at RulingPlanets.com]

Predictions 2019: Aquarius

350px-Aquarius.svgAquarius (for those born Jan. 20-Feb. 18): It’s 2019, and the Aquarians are all right. Except there is that pesky co-ruler of yours, Uranus, dancing around in your solar third house, activating your brain at all hours of the day and night, giving you restless leg syndrome and making you a bit of an insomniac. But otherwise, it’s all good, right?

Well, and then there’s Neptune in Pisces in your solar second house of money, which may be why you’ve become such a sob-story magnet lately. Your financial advisor keeps telling you that your compassion is writing checks that your body can’t cash. But that’s OK, you’ll just earn more money somehow.

Oh, yeah, there’s also your other co-ruler, Saturn, who’s been dawdling, since late 2017, in Capricorn, the earth sign he rules, in your solar 12th house. Some dare say that Saturn is in his joy there, but does that word describe how you feel? With all the suffering on the planet, and in the lives of those you truly care about, has joy become a three-letter word?

You excel in rising out of challenging circumstances but you’re suddenly aware of a grittiness and grimness to life that you’ve somehow managed to steer clear of up until now. You have a knack for succeeding, creating a nice home, garnering a solid paycheck and scooping up professional accolades, but you lately may be suffering from an “imposter syndrome”—pangs of guilt at the successes you’ve celebrated. Perhaps you worry you didn’t come by your promotion or accomplishments honestly. After all, it may have been a group effort, but you got all the credit for it. Or the effort looked hard but it was actually easy to achieve.

Since late 2017, you may feel like you’re being tailed by ghosts. It’s a spooky feeling. And you just can’t put your finger on the cause.

You’ll have some help this year learning how to navigate this perilous territory in the form of four eclipses that involve your solar 12th house. While eclipses aren’t really helpful by nature, their effects tend to cause enough upset and disorientation that you may be forced to rely upon your intuition, which is a gift unto itself. . Predictions 2019: Capricorn

246px-Capricorn.svgCapricorn (for those born Dec. 22-Jan. 19):  As the Western world celebrates New Year’s each January 1, many make resolutions to work harder to lose weight, to get up earlier and go to the gym, to get organized and accomplish long-term goals, etc. It happens to be when the Sun is traveling through the sign of Capricorn.

By contrast, many Asian countries celebrate their lunar new year five weeks later by taking a week off from work. They party day and night with extended family, honor their ancestors, feast on rich foods that attract good luck and generously give money in little red envelopes to children. What a difference a month (and a new sign) makes.

These two approaches symbolize the strong themes in your life right now. On one hand, you are driven to produce and accomplish; on the other, you wish you could savor and celebrate the connections with those you love. But with an eclipse (and five planets) in your sign on January 5, the crush of work obligations makes it nigh impossible for you to divert your eyes from what all the balls you have in the air to while away an afternoon with a friend or loved one.

You’re not obligated to carry this heavy load, but you took it because in your heart of hearts, you know that no one else can get it done, correctly and on time, like you do. And it’s a true statement, because you have been at this for some time. But then you start fretting about deadlines, the people who are depending on you, the fact that you are spread so thin, and soon your fears and worries take on Godzilla proportions. It’s all you can do to try to beat them down with your ever-present scythe.

When you’re feeling like this, your inner Mother Teresa is just not going to show up and tend to a needy loved one, even if that’s the true path to sanity for you at this time.

You’ve always been a workaholic to some degree, but why are things harder now? In December 2017, Saturn entered the sign of Capricorn, the cardinal earth sign that it rules, and the sign where it will remain until March 2020. After 25-plus years of being a generally unappreciated guest in other signs (let’s face it, Saturn can be a buzzkill), the ringed planet is now large and in charge of your solar first house where he can do as he pleases, which, from your perspective, appears to be unleashing a seven-headed wild beast into your life. [Continued at RulingPlanets.com]

Predictions 2019: Sagittarius

235px-Sagittarius.svgSagittarius (for those born Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Does the date Nov. 8, 2018, resonate with you? That’s when your ruling planet, Jupiter, returned to Sagittarius, the mutable fire sign it rules. Jupiter only comes “home” once every 12 years, and it will remain in your sign for just 13 months.

So, what should you expect when the planet of good fortune and higher purpose comes home? Shall we modestly say: “good things”? Many good things, in fact? Hey, Child of Jupiter, the stars are smiling upon you!

Not only are lucrative offers likely to tumble in but golden opportunities in all shapes and sizes show up where you least expect to find them, and a form of divine luck protects you as you experiment and dash at new windmills. This is your “Get Out of Jail Free” card should you need it, so use it to realize your potential and increase the moral value of your life.

The question is, Child of Jupiter, will you train your eyes to see these gifts from on high? Do you have the knack to make something of these opportunities? Will you be courageous enough to explore new territory and embrace the spirit of adventure during this exciting time?

To benefit from Jupiter moving through your sign, imagine surfing. You need to paddle out and watch the waves, set your sights on the perfect one and then paddle hard to catch it, pop up and ride it in for an exhilarating rush of momentum. Sure, there might be sharks lurking below or a coral reef you’re about to crash into, but that’s where divine luck comes in.

The best way to catch your wave of higher purpose is immersing yourself in long-distance travel, university studies, spiritual education at church, or even breaking with a traditional religion to explore new faiths and deeper spirituality.

Jupiter is about liberation and fulfillment. Have you been released from something that was binding you? Thank your ruling planet. So, what will you now do with your freedom? [Continued at RulingPlanets.com]

Predictions 2019: Scorpio

214px-Scorpio.svgScorpio (for those born Oct. 23 to Nov. 21): Psst, between you and me, many a Scorpio rocked 2018. The fixed water signs known for their resolute will and stubborn grudges would be the last to tell you if they fared well, enjoyed good fortune, and perhaps broadened their horizons with one or more journeys to distant shores. Because when it comes to celebrating blessings and windfalls, Scorpios tend to keep a low profile. They don’t want to jinx their luck.

But if you want to “thank your luck,” Scorpio, thank Jupiter, the planet of protection and higher purpose, for giving you a larger sense of purpose in 2018. The gas giant passed through your sign from late 2017 to late 2018 and may have been the inspiration for renewing your passport to visit far-off shores or pursuing long-buried passions in an esoteric field of study.

Not only that, but slow-moving planets such as Saturn and your co ruler, Pluto—known to vex other signs—were able to support you turning your visions into reality. The goal, then, for 2019 is to make the most of the good things that came your way in 2018, and to avoid old habits and self-destructive patterns that undermine your success.

Speaking of Saturn, one positive skill you’ve likely begun embracing is honing your communication skills. Ever since Saturn entered Capricorn in late 2017, this strict taskmaster may have been holding your feet to the fire, or your hand to the laptop, forcing you to write, speak and otherwise impart know-how and skills in the form of technical manuals and guides. As a typically “late adopter” of all things digital, you may find that this transit forces you to utilize apps and social media, not as a frivolous time-waster, but as a means to connect with like-minded souls associated with your newfound passion or purpose.

Now with a North Node in your solar ninth house, you still feel the urge to see the world and seek new horizons. In 2018, there may have been professional upsets and/or concerns with home and family that kept you tethered in place. But in 2019, after the Jan. 20 lunar eclipse, you may start gaining clarity about the uncertainty that’s clouded your career path. Once that is resolved, you will be in position to further your travels or studies begun in 2018. In fact, certain journeys may be thrust upon you.  [Continued at RulingPlanets.com]

Predictions 2019: Libra

281px-Libra.svgLibra (for those born Sept. 23-Oct. 22): As an air sign ruled by Venus, Librans invite harmony and cooperation into their lives through partnerships. However, after an eight-year-long herky-jerky carnival ride with your significant others, you might seriously be wondering about the harmony and cooperation part.

The good news: Relief is on its way in 2019.

Since 2010, when Uranus—the planet of revelation and revolution—swooped into your solar house of marriage, your close relationships have tended to be with those who had one foot in the door and one foot out. Over those years, partnerships have brought excitement, insight, turmoil and, oddly enough, independence for you and your partner.

If your partner(s) have flown the coop in that time, you may lament the ones who got away or those who didn’t love you in return. But have you ever thought it was you who didn’t fully invite your partner to put both feet inside your door? If someone was playing hard to get, it could have been you, dear Reader.

Relationships may be Libra’s stock in trade, but there is another area of your life demanding more of your attention, especially in the past year. That would be your homelife: your physical home, your parents and your roots. These concerns will become even more important in 2019. [Continued at RulingPlanets.com]

Predictions 2019: Virgo

194px-Virgo.svgVirgo (for those born Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Children of Mercury know just how to get ’er done. It’s a trait that Virgos share with other earth signs, but the difference is they accomplish the impossible rather “handily,” and with minimal fanfare, after sifting through complex minutiae and scenarios. Content to pull off miracles behind the scenes, these mutable perfectionists like nothing more than helping others avert catastrophes and close calls.

So how did someone of your buttoned-down persuasion become so enamored of recluses, dreamers and ne’er-do-wells hellbent on escaping reality?

It hasn’t been easy doing all the “adulting” while others close to you have come to rely on your practical magic and organizational skills for them to show up in the world. You are one who makes sure they eat a healthy meal, get to their doctor’s appointments and wear clean (and matching) socks. Co-dependent much? Nah, it’s just that you find it impossible to leave these poor souls in their hour of need. But somehow that hour of need has gone on for seven years!

That’s when the planet Neptune entered Pisces (the sign opposite yours that signifies partnerships). This slow-moving planet is only about halfway through its journey in the underdog-loving water sign of Pisces. Neptune was joined by the asteroid Chiron, aka “the wounded healer,” which might account for the chronic health challenges and pain management needed by those closest to you.

Are you happy about what they have come to expect from you? In a word: absolutely, utterly, hell no! You might be the most enlightened soul on the planet, oozing with rational, insightful words for those seeking your practical wisdom. But in private conversations with yourself, you can’t help but ask yourself: Why are you taking care of such ingrates?

The story of Virgo is that it’s often difficult to be in relationship. You’re exacting, fussy and a stickler. And, despite your modesty, you do hope to be appreciated (or at least acknowledged) for what you do. Those high standards might have many a partner heading for the hills. [Continued at RulingPlanets.com]

Predictions 2019: Leo

184px-Leo.svgLeo (for those born July 23-Aug. 22): For many a child of the Sun, the years 2017-18 might have been among the most life-altering in recent memory. Those changes, however, may not have registered with you. They could have flown right over your crown.

Not only did Leos experience the spiritual lessons of a “fateful” nodal return in their sign from May 2017 through November 2018, but both years featured a succession of five eclipses in Leo. As eclipses always involve the Sun (Leo’s ruling planet), children of the Sun are wise to pay heed to them.

From the eclipses of 2017—on Aug. 7 and Aug. 21 (the Great American eclipse)—to those of 2018, on Jan. 31, July 27 and Aug. 11—you may have sensed unsettled feelings in your partnerships. You may have even sensed that you were being manipulated or controlled by others close to you, but when you tried to prove it, you could find no evidence. You could see how other people were dealing with similar relationship challenges but felt you were immune to being a victim of gaslighting.

This is because eclipses, especially those in our own sign, create a blind spot or shadow. We find ourselves in the dark about certain things and often are not told “the emperor has no clothes” when it would have been nice to know it! Eclipses make it difficult to see very far down the road, and therefore we can’t gauge what is occurring sometimes until months and even years have passed. So, we tread carefully and feel our way through these periods of time.

Your relationship may have been feeling like one big question mark. You stay together because it is the path of least resistance, not necessarily because you see a future for yourself as a couple. Leos love being in love and all the grand gestures that go with it, but what is that for at the end of the day? Believe it or not, to be fulfilled, most Leos seek a line of succession, a “royal heir,” and that’s where your focus wants to be right now: on children.  [Continued at RulingPlanets.com]

Predictions 2019: Cancer

300px-Cancer.svgCancer (for those born June 21-July 22): In early 2019, you might be accused of living up to your name: “Crabby.” But for good reason. The year kicks off with an overwhelming emphasis on your partner.

“Others” are a big deal now, and you tend to feel responsible for them. That’s not all negative. Maybe you’re just starting to appreciate the work involved in “partnering up.” You may have been the driving force that brought a partner into your life, but now you need to deliver because it’s locked in. No more squeezing the produce. You can’t afford to be super-sensitive and back out at the first obstacle; you have to make it work.

If you’re single, the unrelenting emphasis of your solo quest, of the absence of a partner, could be causing you distress. That you must go it alone is a bitter pill, and one you’ve resisted swallowing for the past year.

This is perhaps not the happy news you were hoping for, but it’s the start of a reset that’s overdue and sorely needed. It’s probably best to acknowledge that relationships have been a sticking point for more than a year—since Saturn entered your solar house of partnership in December 2017. Traveling through the sign of Capricorn, Saturn is in the sign that it rules and will remain there until December of 2020. That means Saturn has a free hand to test you, especially when it comes to relationships. Your partner isn’t just stealing the limelight; he or she might be placing heavy demands on you because they themselves feel overwhelmed. Your tendency to protect your loved ones means your partner’s burdens often become yours.

But know this is subject to change. Much of what goes on when Saturn first enters a sign is a dismantling of sorts. Saturn kicks down old structures and inspects the foundation of everything that he touches. That means your partner’s health, wealth or disposition could be tanking. About midpoint through Saturn’s transit of a sign, the planet of trials and tests assists with rebuilding, encouraging you to create a more honest and enduring approach to relationships. [Continued at RulingPlanets.com]

Predictions 2019: Gemini

229px-Gemini.svgGemini (those born May 21-June 20):  As a child of Mercury, you have long been accustomed to the dance of survival. Like an expert fencer, you swoop and swing when you’ve got a shot; otherwise you stay light on your feet and prance away from glancing blows until you can land a hit.

But 2019 will stand out as the year when instead prancing around for your own survival, you are prancing around, possibly engaged in a two-step with a true, blue partner. Yes, Gemini, this could be a year when you will feel you’ve met your match.

In a world where you often feel precariously solo, this is the year for you to catch a break. Whether in business or in marriage, there is somehow so much more of what you have longed for: backing and support, love and admiration, perspective, increased opportunities, mutual benefit, conversation and above all: a sense of humor.

With Jupiter traveling through its own sign of Sagittarius in 2019 in your solar house of marriage, it bodes well for all things related to coupling. But keep in mind, this is the sign opposite of yours and it is your partner, not you, who is broadcasting all the good vibes from Jupiter. But you’ve no doubt heard it said that a rising tide lifts all boats, so if your dingy is tied up to your partner’s yacht, then expect to be elevated during 2019.

But let’s talk about your partner. This person may seem the perfect match and might well be, but first you’ll need to take off the rose-colored glasses to see the relationship clearly. You, Child of Mercury, deal in the here and the now, in the finiteness of the present, armed with all the facts you think relevant to the situation at hand.

Your partner is far more aspirational and hopeful and lives in the promise of all that is out there. Because your partner is not limited by the myopia of the moment, she or he is able to assess future trends and get in position for opportunities that are down the road a bit. Gemini is many things but not what you’d call a long-range thinker, so the two of you could butt heads about the appropriate course of action, but you both have good points to make.  [Continued at RulingPlanets.com]

Predictions 2019: Taurus

225px-Taurus.svgTaurus (those born April 20-May 20): There are few things that Taureans prize more than security and material well-being. Unfortunately, due to a veritable tornado of change running through your life these days, those two things may seem endangered. In fact, as Uranus, the planet of plot twists and surprise endings, enters Taurus on March 7 for the next seven years, your story for the coming years will be anything but run of the mill.

So, what is a Taurus to do? Curl up with a blanket and curse their fate? How about making an effort to learn the new rules and make the best of the situation?

Learning is a big theme in your life right now. With Saturn and Pluto, two of the zodiac’s “bad boys,” currently in your solar ninth house (which rules higher education, philosophy, religion, law, foreign travel and wide-open spaces), it’s nearly impossible for you not to be expanding your world view and sense of higher purpose. These two planets will not let you off the hook nor will they make it a cake walk to achieve that broader perspective.

All you want is a predicable routine in your life, which is why this year opens with a taste of disappointment. Your ruling planet, Venus, is in the final degrees of Scorpio after making up for lost time in a retrograde toward the end of 2018. Having your ruling planet retrograding and returning in a sign known for intensity and anger means that Venus’s ability to attract – something she is very skilled at – may have been misfiring. She may not like what she attracts, or she may attract what she doesn’t like.

A solar eclipse on Jan. 5 kicks the year off with a sudden journey or back-to-school opportunity. But it could end up being more expensive and/or challenging than you thought it would be. The burden of acquiring a broader perspective makes you question if it is worth it. However, you don’t really have an out, so you need to hang in there, at least for the next six months or so.

It’s not all bad news. On Jan. 8, Venus enters the optimistic fire sign of Sagittarius. You’ll immediately radiate a more jovial attitude. Not only is it a more light-hearted energy, but your ruling planet, Venus, will meet up with Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius, twice this year, on Jan. 23 and Nov. 24. Both days are considered extremely lucky for you, especially in the realm of other people’s money (the stock market, insurance, inheritances and your partner’s money). Predictions 2019: Aries

120px-Aries.svgAries (those born March 21-April 19): Oh, child of Mars! Ever needing freedom to leap into action as a protector or advocate, even if it puts your life, limb or reputation at risk. It’s exhilarating! And dangerous.

The past nine years have given your inner superhero ample opportunity to shine. Between all the topsy-turvy maneuvers and end runs you’ve had to contend with, it’s been difficult to know which side to be on. You’re drawn to leadership roles, but you operate more confidently as a lieutenant. In the absence of principled leadership, however, you have lately felt the strain of needing to lead during chaotic situations, especially during the latter half of 2018.

As the year 2019 opens, it feels like a fresh start for you as your ruling planet, Mars, has come home to roost. With Mars in the sign of Aries, your ability to make decisions and act quickly is unimpeded. You are energized and ready to face all comers.

You also have a promising trine from Jupiter, the planet of higher purpose, that’s opening doors to foreign travel, higher education and fortunate legal proceedings. For most of 2019, Jupiter will move through the fire sign of Sagittarius, a complementary energy to Aries, giving you a boost of confidence and good fortune as you seek more meaning in your life.

On Jan. 5, a solar eclipse in Capricorn signals a surge in your career status or possibly a change in your home setting. There is something you need to show up for or commit to–a goal or ideal that you must stand for. It’s not all on your shoulders, however, as you’ll be assisted by a Jupiter trine that illuminates your higher purpose through travel and education opportunities.

Beware of little bumps in the road such as on Jan. 12 (and June 15), when Neptune and Jupiter square each other. For an Aries, this might show up as a loss in direction: Landmarks that were supposed to be there disappear. Lost you may be, but Aries tends to view disorientation as an opportunity to dust off their compass and sniff the air to track back to familiar territory.  [Continued at RulingPlanets.com ]
